Electronic Engineer, Industrial IoT / Embedded Systems Firmware

AC3E is an applied research centre of Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, supported by ANID's Sub-directorate for Centres and Associative Research. It brings together a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary group of researchers working to make the Chilean economy more competitive through scientific and technological innovation.

Purpose of the role

To develop, secure and validate the proper delivery of the projects assigned (quality, deliverables, deadlines and costs), producing solutions that connect research with practical development.

Main duties

• Lead, plan, coordinate and deliver the projects assigned, costs, deadlines, quality and team included.
• Keep communication flowing inside the team and with clients.
• Produce reports, presentations and technical documentation for the projects in your charge.
• Propose solutions to the technological challenges of the projects you take part in.
• Arrange client visits to identify needs and potential joint projects.
• Keep in active contact with the people and organisations relevant to the Centre's work.

Requirements

• A degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience developing firmware for embedded systems.
• Experience with Python, Java and tools such as MATLAB.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Advanced command of Office 365; Git (GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket) and agile methods (Scrum) desirable.

Administrative details

• Reports to the Head of AC3E's Development Unit.
• On site in Valparaíso, with availability for fieldwork.
